Description
Mullein has grown along roadsides, meadows, and forgotten fields for centuries — a tall, silver-green sentinel trusted by herbalists across cultures as one of the most gentle yet effective allies for the lungs and airways. Our mullein tincture is crafted from carefully selected Verbascum thapsus leaves, harvested and dried at peak potency, then extracted in small batches to preserve the plant’s full spectrum of beneficial constituents.
The large, velvety leaves of mullein are rich in saponins, flavonoids, and mucilaginous compounds that work together to soothe irritated respiratory tissue, support healthy mucus clearance, and ease the kind of dry, persistent cough that lingers after illness or comes with seasonal changes. Generations of traditional herbalists have turned to mullein first when the chest feels tight, the throat raw, or the breath shallow.
We use a slow extraction process, allowing ample time for the menstruum to draw out the plant’s water-soluble and alcohol-soluble constituents alike. The result is a full-bodied, dark tincture with a mild, slightly earthy taste — easy to work into daily wellness routines or to keep on hand for when the seasons turn cold and damp.
Respiratory Support
A long-standing respiratory herb, mullein is traditionally used to support healthy lung function and soothe airways during seasonal illness, allergies, or environmental irritation.
Soothing Dry Cough
The mucilaginous qualities of mullein leaf coat and calm irritated mucous membranes, making it a classic choice for dry, scratchy, or persistent coughs.
Lymphatic & Glandular
Some traditional herbalists employ mullein for mild lymphatic congestion and swollen glands, valuing its gentle action on the tissues of the neck and throat.
Relaxing Nervine
Mullein has a subtle calming quality that extends beyond the lungs — it is sometimes used to ease nervous tension, particularly when stress manifests physically in the chest or throat.
Suggested Use
Take 30–40 drops (approximately 1.5–2 mL) in a small amount of water or juice, 2–3 times daily, or as directed by a qualified herbalist. For acute respiratory support, dose may be increased to 4–5 times daily during the active period. Best taken between meals for optimal absorption. Shake well before each use.
